Marian Conway, Executive Director of the Roslyn Savings Foundation (center) presented a $10,000 grant to Thomas McDonagh, Chief of Pediatrics at Huntington Hospital, and Eileen Knauer, Executive Director, YMCA of Huntington. The grant supports the Healthier Tomorrows Program, a 20-week weight management program for children aged 9 – 16 that is jointly sponsored by the hospital and the YMCA.
The innovative program combines nutritional education, psychosocial support, and fun, age appropriate exercise, as the participants pictured climbing the YMCA’s rock wall in the background illustrate. The next session will begin in September.
