Belmont Child Care Association's Anna House

Anna House Families Donate to the Haitian Relief Fund After learning about the devastating earthquake in Haiti and the need for help, the preschool class of Anna House decided to take up a collection from their families and the staff and visitors of Anna House. In addition, each day they donated the coins their parents gave them that morning.
After two weeks of collecting, the children had $165.00 and sent it to The Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund. In the coming months the children said they would collect new toys to send to the children because “the (Haitian) children are sad and toys make children happy and make them smile.”

Every year Anna House has a Thanksgiving luncheon for children and parents. Each guest brings a dish, usually of their native country. Turkeys are donated by a local butcher. The parents learn the meaning of Thanksgiving from their children who have studied about the pilgrims in the classrooms.

The Belmont Child Care Association (BCCA) is a not-for-profit corporation established in 1998. The BCCA has established an on-site childcare center for the benefit of working families at New York area racetracks and to providing scholarship funds to those unable to afford the cost of care. Its volunteer board represents the broad-based industry support BCCA enjoys.
BCCA sustains Anna House, the on-site child development center at Belmont Park Racetrack.  Anna House is not only child care, but early childhood education as well. It is open 365 days a year from 5 AM on to accommodate the racing community parents' work schedules.
