Everyone got into the circus act! Clowns, performing dogs, dancers, kids and staff at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island became part of the amazing performance by Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus who brought their act to the House. Ronald McDonald was at the helm at the start of the walk-a-thon during the 13th Annual Sports Festival, a fun-filled day of sports and recreational activities for children and adults, hosted by the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. Pictured with Ronald and the walkers is Robert Jackson, New York Jets alumni and member of the House Board of Directors.
Six of the 1986 New York Mets World Series champs were a big hit with families and children at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. They stopped by the House with signed N.Y. Mets memorabilia and room decorations during a room naming where they were officially named for one of the rooms at the House. New York Mets icon, Mookie Wilson, is pictured with Assemblyman Mark Weprin, Melanie Angst and Sam and Isaiah Weprin.
New York Mets 1986 World Series champions, Lenny Dykstra, Ron Darling, Wally Bachman, Keith Hernandez, Mookie Wilson and Tim Teuffel are pictured with Theresa Brucculeri, vice president of the Board of Directors at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. The champs brought assorted signed memorabilia and had a room named after them at the House.

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a ‘home-away-from home’ for families of children who are undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals. Located on the campus of Schneider Children’s Hospital, the House accommodates families in a warm and supportive environment. Since 1986, the House has served more than 25,000 residents caring for over 10,000 seriously ill children. Many of the families that stay with us come from Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Nassau and Suffolk Counties; as well as the surrounding metropolitan New York area, the nation and more than 80 countries around the world.
